Forging a path to cultivate young women into the leaders of tomorrow.

What we have already accomplished

Thanks to the committed actions of our governing board, we have:

  • Received 501(c)(3) status with tax-exempt status pending

  • Begun to negotiate for the lease of a state-of-the-art building

  • Established a social media presence

  • Sought funding for the school and students

  • Prepared all state requirements (e.g., mission, vision, philosophy, curricula, staffing guidelines, school safety and transportation plans, school schedules, tuition, admissions, financial aid policies)

Our approach to education

CCGA will take a creative, innovative and holistic approach to education. While meeting all state regulations concerning required courses for high school students grades 9 through 12, CCGA will blend coursework and wellness practices.

The school’s pedagogy will be grounded in the most current writings of educational leaders such as Sara Lawrence Lightfoot, Carol Ann Tomlinson, Heidi Hays Jacobs, Jane Pollock, Lynn G. Beck, Thomas J. Sergiovani and Karen Stabiner. Students will be educated in a safe environment that meets the needs of the individual student.

Notice of nondiscrimination

CCGA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin or disability in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies or any programs. Drawing on the rich diversity of Philadelphia, CCGA will admit students who meet the criteria outlined in the Admissions Policy and based on the student capacity of the building.

Financial assistance

Every applicant must submit a financial aid form and every effort will be made to provide assistance to students who meet the federal poverty guidelines. A list of outside agencies which provide scholarships and grants will be posted on this website.

Our Philosophy

We believe in an education that promotes intellectual excellence, encourages freedom, respects and embraces diversity and educates young women to become future leaders.

We believe that individuality, progress and change are fundamental to one’s education.

We believe that people learn best from what they consider most relevant to their lives.

We believe our curricula should be based on the needs, experiences, interests and abilities of students.

We believe in a student-centered culture that focuses on differentiation and meeting the students' learning needs.

We believe that education should focus on the whole student, rather than on the content or the teacher.

Our emphasis is on group activity and group problem-solving so that the students learn through cooperative learning strategies.

We encourage students to test ideas by active experimentation.

Our belief is that learning is rooted in the questions of learners that arise through experiencing the world.
